先日、HPDU高校生即興型英語ディベート大会新芽杯に本校生徒たちが初めて参加しました。結果は初陣にもかかわらず１勝１敗（３試合目は結果はクローズドのため未公表）でした。
４月下旬に初顔合わせしたばかりのよちよち歩きのチームですが、錚々たる顔ぶれの進学校の中に足を踏み入れ、１試合ひとり４分間英語を話す環境を体験した勇気を讃えたいと思います。
以下に当日の論題を掲載したします。昨日より中１中２有志との練習は本格的にスタートし、７月２２日（祝）に主催する大会に４チーム参戦する予定です。

【Round 1】
This house believes that giving money as a birthday gift is good for both parents and their children in high school.
【Round 2】
In order for high school students to confess their love, this house believes that sending message on smartphone is better than face-to-face talk.
【Round 3】
This house would ban too skinny models (with a *BMI below 18.5) from showing up in media.
*The World Health Organization considers people with a BMI below 18.5 to be underweight and at risk of being malnourished.
